Doug's Fight

My name is Patrick Wilson.  I am starting this page for my brother-in-law Doug Williams.  On October 4, 2014 Doug was taken to the Emergency Room by my sister Janie due to severe headaches.  While thinking this was just a migraine, our worst fears were realized.  On a CT Scan of Doug's brain they found a 5mm tumor that was causing movement in his brain and bleeding.  He was immediately transferred to Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.  Within 2 days Doug had a 7 hour brain surgery that removed 98% of the tumor.  He came through surgery like a champion and was discharged home in 2 days.

This past week on October 23 they received the pathology reports.  The tumor is a Glioblastoma Grade IV tumor.  This is a very aggressive type of brain cancer.  He will be beginning chemotherapy and radiation treatments within 2 weeks.  He will be away from his family weekly to have treatment in Cleveland for 6 weeks. 

While this is something Doug and all of us did not want to hear, we are facing it head on.  With positivity and hope we as a family will fight as hard as we can, for not only Doug's health, but also his wife Janie, and their 3 young children, Jimmy, Harlee, and Samuel. 

I have started this page in hopes of bringing hope, to not only Doug and his family, but to all cancer patients.  The funds raised will be used in all the medical expenses associated with Doug's treatment.  I would like to thank everyone for reading this and for the possibility of your donation.  While monetary donations are appreciated so are prayers and hope.
