Derrik's Cancer Fund
Donation protected
This summer our son Derrik was diagnosed with Stage 4 testicular cancer. He had surgery for partial removal in August and has been battling chemotherapy since then -- one week a month and a couple days a week for the last three months. His surgeons have given him a 50/50 chance of survival. We are devastated, but we are in no way giving up! Sometime in November we are going to have to travel to either Indiana University or USC for a life changing surgery. These two hospitals have the most experience with his procedure and as you can imagine, this is going to be another heavy financial burden on Derrik and our family. Medical costs have been over the top, and now we are scrambling to figure out travel and lodging arrangements to be there for him on this horrible journey. We know the financial burden will last much longer than this surgery, but we believe this is a step in the right direction.
A few of our good friends have asked for a way to help. We have researched this site and feel this may be the best way to go. If you would like to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Even if you can't help, we totally understand, and ask that you simply say a prayer and possibly forward this the people that you think may want to help in this way as well.
We appreciate all the kind words, emails and prayers. It means more than you'll ever know.
