Help me fund my thesis film
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
I'm Zoe Carter, a senior Dance Performance & Choreography major with a minor in documentary filmmaking from Spelman College. I'm an artist and creative who is interested in exploring the intersections of film, movement, technology, and culture.
Ajenije follows Malen, a talented yet overlooked dancer, as she prepares for her final performance at her prestigious art school. Malen experiences a betrayal that forces her to reckon with her deepest desires, urges, and most importantly her anger. This film celebrates black female rage and asks us to honor every part of ourselves. With everything going on in this crazy world, we need spaces to reckon with the anger and fear we all feel. Horror gives us that space, to feel those feelings in a safe environment.
I'd like to submit this film to festivals and use it to apply to film schools, which means the production quality has to be high. I am unable to pay my crew right now so this funding would also help me provide fair wages and that's why your donation matters so much. Film and TV employees are currently fighting for a living wage, and I want to be a part of the side of history that honors workers' value.
