John Freaking Davis Medical Fund

This has been a very hard for my family. In February my Father suffered an aortic dissection in AZ and thanks to a wonderful surgeon his life was saved and I spent a month at hospitals and rehabs helping him recover, only to have my Mother (his wife of 52 years) be diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in her right lung that metastasis to three areas of her brain. She passed away in mid May. Now my spouse of 26 years, the love of my life and yin to my yang has been diagnosed with a 5x6cm size grade 2 Astrocytoma brain tumor on the right side in the thalamus region of the brain. Surgery is not an option and thus far radiation is the course of treatment. It is a slow progressing tumor which they think could have been growing for 7 to 10 years. When the symptoms finally presented themselves about mid August, John suffered extreme memory issues, and weakness to his left side causing an unbalanced gait. He lost the ability to do his job as a Graphic Designer, less than a month after his symptoms presented, Sept 11th. (John is an amazingly creative artist in all mediums except oil painting lol)  And our insurance was cancelled the end of that month. But, thankfully NetMedia his employer at the time has said they will take care of the premiums through the end of the year. Those premiums are over $1,000.00 a month and when they no longer pay them I'm not sure what we will do. We'll probably have to look into the Affordable Care Act for assistance unless he is determined to be disabled. I've been a stay at home care giver for my granddaughter since Feb 2011 and so at this present time we have NO income. Unemployment stopped when he was admitted to the hospital on Oct 10th and he has been hospitalized ever since. We are in need of assistance paying John's medical bills and anything else that comes up while he receives radiation treatment to shrink this tumor and hopefully be able to manage it and regain 80% of normalcy back to his life. There is no cure for these types of tumors. I've spent everyday with him at the hospital since he was admitted, I just can't leave his side and I need to be assured he is well cared for until he can come home. Asking for help during this time has been a humbling lesson for me to learn, as I tend to take care of everything myself. We need all the prayers, positive thoughts and support we can get at this time. Your support will be appreciated more than words can ever describe. We are so grateful for all the love and emotional support we've been receiving. This too shall pass and with everyones help I pray John will prevail. Live Large, Laugh Hard, and Love Deeply :)
