The family of fitzroy blake aka flushy is reaching out to all wellwishers, friends and family at this crucial time for financial assistance which is needed urgently in order for him to undergo a lifesaving surgery.
While on a family visit in florida, he was complaining of having difficulty breathing, he was taken to the emergency room where he was assessed by the medical team. He was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit, numerous investigations were done including an MRI and biopsy which revealed a growth (tumor) that had partially blocked his airway, a tracheostomy tube was inserted in his throat to help him breathe, they also had to insert a feeding tube in his stomach in order for nutritional need to be met.
The growth is called a oropharyngeal tumor and it has now completely blocked his airway and seems to be spreading to the base of his brain, because he is a jamaican resident without insurance he has been in and out of three hospitals due to inability to pay the money to cover the cost of the surgery.
He is presently admitted at jacksons memorial hospital and this facility is willing to perform the surgery. The cost is $16,000 US dollars but the hospital requires a $10,000 US dollar downpayment before they actually do the surgery. Therefore we are asking as many persons as possible to send whatever donation you have so that the downpayment can be made as soon as possible.
