Please help me get back on my feet.  On July 2, 2018, I checked into the hospital with severe jaundice.  I was diagnosed with liver cancer. I am undergoing chemotherapy to reduce the tumor.  I want to go home. But will not be able to do physical work. Fortunately, I have tropical plant greenhouses that could be repaired and used to create income without spending a fortune.  I don’t qualify for disability and have no idea how to support myself while in this condition.

Our primary focus will be set on growing edibles: figs, star fruit, mangoes, guavas, blackberries, and possibly bananas.  Hurricane Irma made a mess of the greenhouses, but I have many of the materials needed to rebuild. I will need to hire labor to do the harder work that I used to do myself.                                                                                                                                                                                                  I have been in the hospital since July 2, 2018.  My treatment has been excellent, but the physical and emotional drain of spending that much time in a hospital room has fired me up to leave here and have an independent life. My upcoming radiation treatment can be done on an outpatient basis, so the only things holding me back from being discharged are getting my nutrition, pain meds, and finances straightened out. We are working on very hard on the nutrition and pain meds, so I am confident that I am only a week or two away from getting out on my own again this once I can see my way clear financially.
