My mom has dedicated her life to being the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is one of the most generous human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and has always gone above and beyond to help anyone in need. Whether it was donating food, clothes, furniture, or time for those in need, you could always count on her support.
One year ago, my mom was dianosed with gastric cancer, and for the first time in her life, she was the one who was in need. Since beginning chemotherapy in February, she has had to overcome so many obstacles as a direct result of her treatment, and she continues to amaze me every single day with the strength she exhibits in her day-to-day life. Last week, we were told that her body is too weak to continue with chemotherapy treatment and she is now receiving palliative care. We are so grateful to the medical team that has been helping her fight this disease, but her fight cannot end here.
Now that we have exhausted treatment through conventional Western medicine, we are focusing on alternative treatment. I cannot even begin to express how important my mom is to me and there is absolutely nothing I wouldn't do for her. I have been reading endless articles and medical journals and consulting with naturopath doctors on what our next steps should be. Unfortunately, being elderly and retired, my parents do not have group/private medical insurance and these treatments are costly and will all be "out-of-pocket". I wish I had an endless amount of money to try anything and everything to save my mother's life, but the reality is, I don't and we need your help.
3500 Canadians are diagnosed with stomach cancer every year, 2100 will die from it. Can you help save 1 of those lives?
