You never think that some day your family will face something together that you know will end with the deepest sorrow imaginable but sadly that is where we are. Just months ago our dad gathered us all together and told us the words no child wants to hear. “I have lung cancer and they told me I have 6-9 months” Our world was shattered and changed forever on that day. Nothing can prepare you for that. Nothing can prepare you for what is to come.
After many tests, scans, trips to St.John, Fredericton and now Waterville hospital we know now that dad has metastatic lung cancer. It has spread to his liver, kidney, lymph nodes and bones. The doctors are truly amazed he is still here with us today.
As we face this next chapter of his life he will be receiving chemo treatments every three weeks. We beg that if you are a prayer warrior that you would begin to pray for him and our family.
My parents have always been the kind of people who would help anyone in need no matter who they were no questions asked. Now, I am sadly asking on their behalf to help them. I know it has been a financial stress for them with medical bills, trips back and forth to doctors appointments, hospital visits and ambulance bills.
Not only has this been finically stressful on them, I know my mom has guilt as she leaves for work unable to sit by his side. My dad worked tirelessly until the day he found out which he then “retired” at 71.
I am asking if you can help our family so my mom can worry a little less and try to cherish the time she has left with him. As a body of Christ we are to take care of one another and I pray that my dad and mom will see that. Not only through financial contribution but I pray those around us would pray diligently so my parents would see the true love of Christ at work here in the flesh.
