This summer I have the incredible opportunity to go to Uganda and volunteer in an orphanage with children ages 3-18 years old.
I just graduated from Missouri State University with a bachelor of science in Child and Family Development with an emphasis in Child Life. After my visit to the orphanages in Vologda Russia, I have dedicated my life to working to better the lives of children in orphanages around the world. In all of my experience and education, I have learned that children thrive in an encouraging and comforting environment where they have a positive attachment to a caregiver. To children growing up in an orphanage, this is not always a possibility. It is my goal to travel to these places and work with the children and the staff to develop a more child and development friendly curriculum for the children.
Children are my passion. I love everything about them and I am blessed to learn from them everyday. Their curiosity, creativity, generosity and innocence is truly inspiring. I hope to work hard for children around the world and give them a chance to have a life they deserve. As simple as it may sound, my life goal is to love children. To love children who otherwise may not experience the power of love.
