Felicity Fund

Today has started off as a very sad day. A calendar reminder popped up on my computer “Play date with Felicity.”  It was sad because on Friday I found out that Felicity was taken away from her biological mother without any visitation at all. The courts awarded Felicity to her adoptive father, whom she only lived with for 8 months of her life when she was a baby.

I know her mom well. Our children played travel soccer together for three years. We’ve dropped our kids off at each other’s homes, we’ve taken them to fun places together and we are friends.

She is the type of woman that is so giving and helpful. Always offering to help. I have never had a negative experience with her. She has two wonderful daughters. She is a great mom.

I don’t want to go into the details but I can assure you that she has done NOTHING to deserve having her 9 yr old daughter taken away from her. For god’s sake, drug addicts and criminals still have access to their children.

Ashton has spent her life trying to live a healthy and successful life and to give her daughters the best life that she can.

Ashton grew up without any positive role models and has had to learn about life strictly through trial and error. But she is such a determined and intelligent woman that she has gotten herself a criminal justice degree plus a masters in business through all of her ups and downs. And believe me there have been many.

Ashton now has a very successful career working for the University of Michigan and is surrounded both professionally and personally by many great role models. But now she is facing the most difficult time of her life. She has to fight to get her daughter back.

I cannot sit back and watch this happen without helping. She has no family to turn to and that breaks my heart. I ask that you find it in your heart to help this parent get her child back and help this child get her mom and sister back.

I’m starting this Go Fundme in hope that you will also help. Any donation amount would be appreciated. We are going to use the funds to hire a lawyer. Up until now Ashton has had pro bono attorneys but this has proven to be insufficient. It’s time to find an experienced family law attorney to advise and fight for Felicity to go back to her mother. I will help choose the attorney and be the responsible party to have the funds raised used to pay the legal fees. The funds raised will be transferred into my checking account once per week.

Please share this with all of your contacts and help in any way that you can.
