My name is Stan.
In May of 2012 over Memorial Day I thought I was experincing a stroke. My whole right side of my body went numb and I was not sure what exactly was going on. I kind of was out of what was going on and when I awoke an ambulance crew was at my home. I was transported to the Emergency at Munson Medical Center. I was admitted and many tests were done and an MRI was included.
The MRI showed that I had a Brain Tumor. To be exact a cancer called Glioblastoma IV, which was verified on June 18, 2012 when I had surgery to remove it.
I went thru Chemo and radiation for 6 weeks and returned to work about Ocober 2012. Still throughout 2012and into 2013 I was doing OK (not great).
About October or November of 2013 started having hit and miss head aches, migraines & sharp pain in my head. I startred missing work and I went out on Family Medical Leave more and more. I have used all of my vacation time and sick back in 2012 and had maybe 1 day to nothing to be paid with. For example my last 3 paychecks I was paid $21.00 total. My docters (Family, Onocologist and Neurologist) are trying to help me.
I have MRI's every 3 months and so far remain cancer free. If you look up this cancer you can see that I am one of the lucky ones! As of right now I have nothing money wise coming in to buy groceries, pay house, electricity, gas etc.
I will remain off work for a while longer (what a crappy way to turn 60) and can't do this alone!
This is the first time I have ever breached this topic in such a different way and this is very personal to me and I appreciate anyones help. Thank You!
