King was admitted into OSU Thursday and underwent an MRI and CSF tap Friday after we were triaged by his primary doctor regarding back pain he was experiencing. They were unable to determine what was causing the pain, but were able to rule out several scary possibilities that had previously been considered. While certain testing was still pending, he seemed to be doing well enough to send home. He was still feeling the good effects of the anesthesia and was able to rest peacefully for about 3 hours after discharge. But became increasingly painful as time went on. Even more pain than before his admission. I rushed him back to the ER at 3am. They gave him two pain injections and a fentanyl patch and sent us back home. They wanted me to allow atleast 12 hours for all the pain medications to take effect. It was the scariest and heart breaking 12 hours of my life. He was in excruciating pain. So I took him back to the hospital last night and they admitted him. After further testing and evaluation, the neurologist suspects an infection in his lower back. Whether it's in his spinal cord or muscle is still unclear. But she has started him on an aggressive treatment of IV antibiotics and steroids. She is having a hard time managing his pain. He is on so much pain medications right now, and he is still suffering They are doing everything they can, and he is getting the best care possible. But she has given me some worst-case scenarios that my heart can't even fathom. I'm so beyond broken by this and can't stop crying. He deserves the best care and the financial aspect of it is a growing concern. Just to be transparent, I am already 7k into this and it sounds like he has a long road to recovery ahead Prayers are my biggest request for my sweet boy, however if anyone is financially capable and willing to make a donation it would potentially be life saving for him.
