As another adoptee family ourselves we know just how hard this journey can be and as Russel Moore said in his book, "Adopted For Life", It takes a whole village to adopt a child, this is so true! And this is why this page exists as we make known to you the urgent need for the Miller family. Below is their story and explanation for their need to raise the remaining travel costs as in less than three weeks Gilbert and Kim can finally bring their precious daughter home from China! The Miller family have endured much over the past three years.
The loss of their baby Olivia was a very difficult time in their lives.
Following soon after the loss of Kim's sister. Just a few weeks after this, Gilbert's step-father passed away unexpectedly. Seven weeks later, his mother was killed in a tragic car accident.
The following year found Kim in the hospital with a ruptured appendix and resulting life-threatening infection.
As she was recovering, Gilbert was seriously injured and was unable to do any physical labor for six months. As Gilbert is a cabinetmaker, this was very difficult financially.
In the midst of these challenges, they began the process to adopt two orphans from Africa, however this adoption heartbreakingly fell through.
Still believing it was the Lord's will for them to not give up but continue, they began the process to adopt from China.
Just days before receiving word that they could travel to China to bring home their little girl, Kim's father passed away.
In spite of so much heartache in such a short time, the Millers see this adoption as a way to honor the loved ones they have lost and bring hope to their family and to the little one who will be joining them soon.
After nearly two years of heartache, illness, loss, and anticipation, they are now ready to travel to China to bring home their new daughter. They are in need of $8,000 for travel expenses.
