Volunteer Trip to Nepali Orphanage

As some of you may know, I've had the opportunity to go on volunteer trips to Piedras Negras, Mexico for 3 summers, and although these trips were physically and emotionally exhausting, they were the most incredible experiences of my life. They gave me a new perspective on life, created a passion in me for helping the less fortunate, and they happened to be the deciding factor on my decision to pursue a degree to become a pediatric PA in international aid.
I am creating this account in hope that you will help me go on another one of these amazing projects, but this time a little further away. I have decided to put my best efforts forward and attempt to go on a 2 week volunteer trip to Nepal to help provide basic needs at children's orphanages over my winter break. This is a place where help is desperately needed, but it is often not recieved. Nepal is one of the poorest nations in Asia, and as a result, many of the orphanages do not have adequate staff to maintain a clean and nurturing environment, or enough caretakers to give the proper amount of attention that the children so critically need.
Your donation towards this cause can truly make a lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most.
The organization I hope to be traveling with is the Rural Community Development Program (RCDP volunteers) and their fees are as follows:
$150 Two-week program cost: This covers my transport to and from the Kathmandu airport, as well as food and accommodations for the duration of the project.
$269 Registration fee: Paid directly to the organization, this covers the RCDP support staff, the upkeep of the organization, and to ensure the utmost safety while abroad.
$2000 for airfare: Volunteers are responsible for arranging and paying for their own airfare.
$139 Visa/Travel insurance: A two week visa to Nepal cost $40, and travel insurance (which the organization requires) is $89 for 2 weeks.
TOTAL: ~$2,558
As I have decided to do this amazing program over my Christmas/winter break, the price of flights will only increase, so the sooner I have the expenses to pay for it, the more beneficial. This would be the most amazing Christmas gift not only to me, but to the underprivledged children in Kathmandu. Any donation what so ever is immensely appreciated and will go directly towards truly making a difference in the world. Thank you so much for your support and I am eager to share my experiences with you upon my return!
