On Sunday, August 9th, Kevin was spending the morning with his wife, Melissa, and daughter, Karli, taking care of their friend's horses. He began to feel faint and numb in his leg. He was taken by ambulance to Sutter Delta Hospital where it was discovered he had a problem with his aortic valve in his heart. He was rushed to John Muir Medical Center in Concord for emergency surgery when they also discovered he had blocked blood flow to his leg and intestines.
After a 12 hour surgery on his heart he went into organ failure due to the limited blood flow. His condition is very guarded at this time as he is too ill to undergo another surgery to try and restore blood flow to his organs.
His wife and 3 children need all the support they can get at this time. This event will cause an extreme financial strain on them as Melissa needs to be by his side. They will basically be losing both incomes and any amount that you can give will help this family tremendously.
