This is Olivia. Defined in so many ways. 11 years old. Bright eyed. Happy. Lover of soccer. Watcher of Stranger Things
. Painter. Middle school student. Friend. Sister. Daughter. And now ... Cancer Patient
Just before school started, Olivia was diagnosed with Sporadic Spindle Cell Rhabdomyosarcoma with MyoD1+ Mutation
. It’s a cancer that affects the soft tissue. The type that Olivia has is rare and serious.
Olivia is undergoing the most aggressive cancer treatment available. It includes 87 weeks of chemo, 20 weeks of radiation, facial reconstruction surgery and then ongoing medications to keep her healthy.
Because doctors here have limited experience with this cancer, Olivia will likely need treatment out-of-state. This will be at the family's expense.
Olivia’s family has medical insurance. However, insurance doesn’t cover everything. Olivia’s mom is no longer able to work because doctor appointments, research and caring for Olivia are now her full time job.
With the expenses quickly piling up, Olivia and her family need our help right now! Money should not be their biggest worry. Join Team Olivia by donating to her GoFundMe!
