Dear Friends and Community Members,
The friends of the Johnston Family have created this Go Fund Me Page to help the family with ongoing expenses faced during an unimaginable time. John Johnston, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, colleague, friend, and community member died unexpectedly on October 26, 2020, at the age of 49. He leaves behind the love of his life, Renee, and their three children, Wynter, (23), Sierra, (18), and Gage, (16).

The Johnston family are lifelong members of the Pinckney/Hamburg community who are well known for giving all of their time and love to others through countless hours of volunteerism. Chairing the Pinckney Music Programs’s Annual Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for seven years, acting as the Band Booster President or Past President for eight years, heading the annual Poinsettia fundraiser with John, Renee Johnston has helped the Pinckney Music Program raise over $40,000. Renee has also been an active volunteer in the classroom, girl scouts, and serves on the Hamburg Family Fun Fest Committee. It would be rare that you would go to any major community event without seeing Renee, John, and/or the kids lending a hand. Just the other night at the Pinckney Football Game, Renee and John were on the track helping the Marching Band move equipment, passing out water bottles, and helping with whatever else the kids needed.
After a lifetime of giving to the community, the Johnston family now needs OUR help!

Please give what you can and leave words of encouragement for Renee and the kids. All proceeds go directly to the family and every amount, big or smaller will help immensely. Every dollar will help Renee and the kids with unexpected expenses as well as ongoing monthly expenses while they get back on their feet.
