Alexandra's Medical Treatment

Hello there! My name is Alexandra, but I go by Lexie. Earlier on in my life, around age 9 is when I had a bad case of strep that evolved into scarlet fever. A few months after that I started noticing symptoms such as OCD and less neat handwriting, as well as fatigue. This was the start of a downward spiral. It seemed like each year something new was added on. The diagnosis of Narcolepsy with cataplexy in 2014 was extremely difficult for me. I had gone from an active child who was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader, straight A student with lots of energy, to a homebound student that could barely get out of bed before noon. Due to bullying and mainly health concerns, I had to finish my 6th grade year online. I barely made it halfway through 7th grade in a new school before I was withdrawn because my health had gotten significantly worse. I struggled with (and still do) severe nausea upon waking up, constant stomach pain after eating or drinking and constipation. I was also diagnosed with several illnesses, such as Dysautonomia, POTS and GERD. This meant my autonomic nervous system could not regulate itself, which affects my temperature, blood pressure and even circulation. Most days, I get very lightheaded from sitting upright or bending down to pick something up. Simple chores like doing laundry are a huge struggle for me, since my joints are in lots of pain. I have near constant shortness of breath and my resting heart rate is rather high.Severe insomnia was only the icing on top. Some nights I wouldnt fall asleep until 8am,and another time I was awake for 60 hours straight.I tried several diffrent sleep medications, only to have each one fail me. After quite a few trips to the ER on various occasions, I stayed in the hospital for 5 days. During this time, I went through a plethora of tests and scans, including a colonoscopy and endoscopy. The second time I was admitted was due to a large and painful ovarian cyst that had ruptured. Living in a single income home with my mom is definitely hard, not only for me but for her. I have been to over 15 different doctors, specialists and basically anyone with an MD. I have gone through antibiotics, hormone treatments, and countless different prescription medications to mask the symptoms I have had to live with for most of my life. I was at the end of the rope, there were no more doctors that I could see. I started losing hope and becoming depressed. Being socially isolated did nothing to help either. It seemed grimm for me. However, an opportunity showed itself only very recently. In a last attempt, we came across an altenative/functional medicine doctor. After an hour and a half consultation, he took on my case. He confirmed the theory that I  had been struggling with P.A.N.D.A.S and SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth). With a treatment plan completely optimized and personalized for me, I need help more than ever. This is possibly my last chance to get my quality of life back. My last opportunity to actually go back to school and resume doing many of the things I loved before I became sick. I am currently 14 years old, and I will be 15 on January 6th. My hope for my birthday is to not be in pain and celebrate another year of life. This treatment plan has given me so much hope and strength to perservere, but it cannot be set in place until the funds are raised. With this new treatment course, several blood labs will be run, as well as panels, saliva tests, behavioral therapy, medical supplementation, diet/lifestyle change as well as so many other aspects. Thank you for your time, and I thank everyone who can help in any way.
