Hardship Fund for Barbara

My dear friend Barbara is enduring an extreme hardship right now and on her behalf, I am setting up this fund raiser page to relieve some of the financial burden on her and her family. Earlier this month Barbara’s mom was rushed to the hospital with a perforation in her stomach that caused septic shock. She underwent several surgeries to address the perforation and to remove her gall bladder, sections of her stomach and colon. At some point she suffered a stroke and another perforation in her stomach and was placed in ICU. The doctors then said her condition was inoperable. She died within a few days. This was a sudden death, as her mom was not sick prior to the perforation. During these few weeks with her in the hospital, Barbara flew from Tampa to St. Louis several times to be there with her mom. After her death, she had to stay to clean out her mom’s house. To make matters worse, when she returned home after a visit to St. Louis, she realized her cat was acting abnormal and not eating. After several vet visits and an Animal Emergency Room visit, the doctors have concluded her cat has stomach cancer and will have to be put down soon. Between missing work, purchasing several plane tickets, vet visits and upcoming funeral arrangements, this has become a financial burden beyond what Barbara can handle. Barbara and her sister are the only family alive to handle the financial strain. I’m asking for your help on her behalf.
