Due to so many giving people willing to donate furniture, clothes and other household items, we are able to lower our goal, which means we are more than half way there! We also found a smaller place to live for less money! Hooray!
Hi my name is Peter Sandoval, I am 13 years old. My mom is a single mother of 5 kids. She is a loving, hardworking mom.
Here is why we need your help:
Our current residence is infested with roaches and bed bugs. This is a problem with the whole building and not just our unit. We have been living with this problem for the past 4 months. We have to move out by October 31st 2014. We also have to get rid all of our possesions due to the infestation. There was a change of building management recently and as a result we were given 30 day notice and there is a chance we will not get our deposit back.
My mom has worked so hard over the last few weeks to try to find us a new place and come up with the money for the first month of rent and deposit on a new apartment. She is even taking on a second job. With 5 kids and being a single mom, this is just too much for her.
We found a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment, for around $1600 a month. We need $1600 for the first month of rent and $1600 for the deposit. We are still looking to see if we can find some thing for less, but rent is high right now.
We have no beds and no other possesions besides our clothes and a few clothes we have in storage. We are hoping to raise about $800 to get bunk beds from IKEA and matresses for the bunk beds, etc (plus a little extra to cover the fees).
We are a good hard working family and we would appreciate any help we can get. I just want to give my mom a chance to get ahead and to ensure that we have a place to live and a beds to sleep in.
