Amanda was on the phone last Thursday when her knees and arms went numb while walking to her bedroom and she fell. She ended up with a spinal chord injury and had an emergency surgery on her C3-4 and C5-6 in her neck. She is current at Avera in Sioux Falls. The swelling and injury is giving her continued pain and there was a few scary days where she couldn't move her lower half and right half of her body. She is slowly gaining some movement back a little at time. Unfortunately, Amanda is a self employed nurse so that means she has no vacation time and no short term or long term disability. They are expecting her to recover but are stating it could take 6-8 weeks to get more movement back. She will be staying in hospital for awhile for rehabilitation. She will also most likely need to make some changes at home to make it wheelchair accessible for a while. If you are able to give anything to assist her with medical and other bills while she is not able to work we would be so grateful! If you can't we understand and would love to still have prayers for continued recovery. If you would rather donate personally I would be happy to get the money to her- Lyndsie
