We have nothing left to lose, and a baseline of human dignity to gain. All we want is a roof over our heads. This is an uncomfortable ask, but our family needs help.
The past few years have been a myriad of serious health issues, job insecurity, and financial problems, finally resulting in the foreclosure of the house we’ve lived in for over a decade now. We’ve tried to use all of our resources: governmental aid, the Veterans Affairs office, cutting back on everything except the basic necessities, but all of the hurdles we’ve had to overcome left us exhausted of resources. Our community has crowdfunded for us before to pay for Stephen's cancer treatments, for which we still had to pay several thousand out of pocket.
We’ve been given one more chance to pay a modified amount on our mortgage payment in order to avoid being foreclosed and losing the house in early September. This is our last ditch effort.
We are asking for money in order to pay this modified amount and keep our house. We’ve tried to downsize into smaller apartments, but even trying to make that move would end up costing more than we can pay. Anything you and your family has to offer is appreciated. Spreading the word and sharing within your networks works wonders. We are down on our knees at this point and hope that you can help get us back on track. After years of being a victim to fate and misfortune, we are ready to retake control of our lives.
