For Forrest

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Adam, but enough about me:

Four years ago my brother-i n-law, Forrest, had a seizure in the back of a cab on the way home from work and, after a trip to the emergency room, learned there was a tumor the size of a golf ball in his brain--a rare form of brain cancer called Glioblastoma multiforme.  After surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy and many months of hopes and prayers, it seemed he had beaten it and was considered "cancer-free".  Forrest has since gotten married and he now has a 7-month old daughter named Margaret Jane (Maisie).  However, last month a scan revealed that there is some re-growth happening deeper in the brain, and last week another scan showed that the cancer is growing rapidly.  Since Forrest and his wife Kristen both work in jobs that do not provide insurance coverage, they are both now part of the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare), which costs a lot and does not provide the same kind of coverage that a lot of the rest of us get with employer-assisted insurance.  That being said, they are now in a situation where insurance will not adequately cover the treatment Forrest needs--surgery and chemo drugs. Forrest and Kristen are both working hard, appealing to their insurance company, doctors, hospitals, NIH, drug manufacturers and anybody else who will listen to try and find an affordable solution.  If all goes well, Forrest will be able to have surgery to remove the tumor from his brain--which will then have him out of work (and not getting a paycheck) for six to ten weeks to recover and begin chemotherapy.

This is where you come in.

I have set up this page for Kristen and Forrest, and I am asking for your help.  My goal is to buy a gift card (or cards) for the basics like food, water, diapers, etc. while Forrest is unable to work.  I believe this is the easy part, gathering funds for people who are truly in need and giving them support for the bare necessities.  Forrest and Kristen have a hard road ahead in trying to find a situation that will provide the medical care that is so badly needed, and the last thing they should be stressing about is how they are going to pay the rent and keep food on the table for their new family.

If you have gotten this far then I thank you for at least taking the time to read this.  If you are unable to provide financial support then all I ask for is positive thoughts and prayers...I believe that helps too.
