My beautiful 17yr. old daughter should be hanging with her friends, thinking about her graduation, and making goals for what she wants to do after she graduates. Now she goes from this place to that place for diagnostics, surgeries, and now we go for radiation. Sammy was diagnosed with a tumor back in Oct about the size of a golf ball that was starting to press on her spinal cord. On Nov 4th and after a 9 1/2 hr surgery, the doctors were successful in removing 90%. Leaving 10% in fear of hitting any nerves and leaving other serious damage. Was home a week later slowly recovering. Then the day before Thanksgiving are lives were changed forever. We received a call from the doctor saying it was stage 2 cancer. A few days later, we were back in the hospital with fluid buildup and an infection. We came home with some antibiotics after a week and IVs. The fluid has caused the cancer cells to move to the other side of her brain. We are now looking at 6 weeks of radiation therapy at a hospital 3 hours from where we live. We never ask for help but, we aren't sure how to get through this. We are looking at hotel costs, food, transportation, and other bills. I cannot work and take her to her treatments. There are 30 treatments. Mon thru Fri. Times are hard right now for everyone I know. If you aren't able to help then a simple prayer is appreciated we are both scared and lost at this moment.
