Sandy & Janice need some support!
Dear Family, Friends and downright great humans,
I am writing to ask for your
support. Our dear friend Sandy is in need of some serious love,
kindness and generosity. On June 21, 2011, Sandy's
mother Janice was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer with metastasis to the
liver. Janice spent the following 6 months in chemo
treatments fighting this
disease, all the while with a smile on her face and Sandy by her side.
Janice needed to start Chemo
treatments right away so on July 6, 2011 she started her first round of 6
months of treatment. Sandy,
who lives in North Carolina with her incredibly supportive fiancé,
dropped everything to be by her mother\'s side, including her jobs, a grant to teach in Spain and relocated to Buffalo, NY.
They spent much of the 6 months letting the cancer know they simply weren\'t
going to have it! With their positive attitudes came some serious medical
expenses. Bi weekly chemo treatments came with a co-pay of $150.00 per visit.
This on its own was challenging enough. After seeing some
Many of you have known Sandy for many years and knowing what a
kind, caring and remarkable ray of light she is makes this a heart wrenching
chain of events for those of us who wish to do all we can to help simplify what
she is going through. While no amount of money can offer relief during this
time, it will certainly allow Sandy and Janice some peace together while
they focus their efforts on Janice's recovery. She wants nothing more than to
be with her mother and fight this disease head on but is feeling the pressure
of leaving her job, yet again. As her friend I am asking you to help, in any
way you can. Any small donation can make a huge difference
in lessening the financial stress during this emotionally challenging
time.
Thank you for taking the time
to listen.
With much appreciation and
love,
Lana
