Lawanda's Trip for Medical Care

Lawanda was my college roommate.  We bonded immediately, but haven't been in touch for 30 years.  She grew up an "MK" (missionary kid) in Brazil with her brothers and sister and that's where her heart has always been.  Lawanda studied to become a nurse and returned to Brazil.  She and her husband Antonio have been serving as missionaries in Cuiaba, Brazil since 1989.  They have 4 grown children.

They are doing what many of us cannot do.  Now, Lawanda is SICK.  The doctors in Brazil cannot come up with a diagnosis and she has been in terrible pain off and on for the past 45 days.  There is a great possibility of free care at a world renowned medical facility in the US, but we need to get her here.  

I believe that though my heart's desire to go to a foreign field did not come to fruition, maybe I was put in Lawanda's life for "such a time as this."  Maybe that's why some of you are in her life.  Let's all get together and do what we can for her so that she and Antonio can continue doing what they do for God and in such a way be a small part of their work.
