Help a Veteran protect his son

My son Castiel is the greatest gift and a huge blessing in my life. I am an Iraqi war veteran who is still haunted by my experiences. My children are what keeps me in line and what keeps me going in life, I devote myself to them. When my son was born It was the greatest moment of my life I finally had my little buddy and I couldn't wait for all the wonderful things we would do together.
When Castiel was going for a routine checkup the doctors notice a sound around his heart, they sent us to see a specialist. That is when the worst news of my life came, my son was diagnosed with pulmonary artery stenosis. Pulmonary artery stenosis is a congenital heart defect, this defect is a narrowing of the pulmonary artery. The doctors told us that sometimes this problem corrects itself unfortunately that is not the case with Cas.
Castiel is now 3 years old and the situation has only gotten worse. This disorder is not giving my son’s small little lungs enough blood to be enriched with oxygen, basically limiting all his daily activities. A few minutes of playing will leave him fatigue and very short on breath. His heart races and it is now to the point that he doesn’t even want to go outside and play anymore because he gets too tired. The doctors have told us he is in need of surgery to correct the problem. His right ventricle is under too much pressure and will start to cause damage to his heart muscles if not treated soon.
The bill for this surgery is astonishing however most of it is taken care of by insurance but even with that our portion of the co pay is high, almost $15,000 I am using all of our savings and my VA Disability compensation to help pay for this but it is not enough we are 8-9 thousand short and I am desperate, I ask that you please help me save my son’s future. I hate using my Military service to benefit me or my family as I did not join for handouts, but this is my son and I will do anything for him. So I ask you please help us and donate whatever you can for the life of a small child or to help a Veteran in need whatever the reason I am asking my countrymen to help me save my son as I risked my life for all of you.
