Gary & Sandy Matson Transplant Fund

Donation protected
We would like to start out by thanking you to take the time to hear our story. My name is Jay Matson. I have created this page in search of financial aid for both of my parents whom have just reached the age of retirement and are both in need of a transplant in order to carry on sharing the love and laughter with family and friends that they have shared throughout their lives. I was born in 1977 and have a sister that is two years ahead of me, Angie Matson Reed. Together we shared a great childhood of surviving the 1980's & 90's with our parents. Gary is in need of a kidney transplant & Sandy in need of a liver transplant. Gary has always been a hard working man and always does whatever it takes to take care of family. In recent years Gary & Sandy have dealt with diabetes. They work hard to keep their balances where they need to be and have changed their diets to keep these things in check. Gary has been doing dialysis for the past few years for kidney failure. He is now doing his treatments at home himself through Peritoneal dialysis. A transplant could give way to an easier life without having to connect to the machine on a daily basis. Gary & Sandy both have made great strides to change their way of life in order to stay healthy and take care of one another. Sandy has recently been diagnosed with a failing liver. In all of the forty years I have spent alive, I can't recall ever seeing her have one alcoholic beverage. The liver damage Sandy has is known as nonalcoholic liver disease or Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), in which you have inflammation and liver cell damage, as well as fat in your liver. Type 2 diabetes could be probable cause for her liver disease. Sandy has always been one to take care of everyone she knows first and foremost. It is our hopes and dreams to find aid in preserving a better way of life for two of the best people we have ever known in our lives, our mother and father. Any contributions made towards helping us reach our goal will be forever in our hearts. Thank you again for your time and for listening to our story. Please help us to share it anywhere & everywhere, whenever possible.

Sincerely,

Jay Matson
