Road to Rio

Born with an eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa, I became involved in Goalball, a handball sport for blind athletes. Since the year 2001 I've competed with the US men's Paralympic team and I've traveled to numerous international events. This fall in 2016, the Olympic and Paralympic games will be held in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. I helped our team qualify in the 2014 world championships, taking third place overall in the world. I was the leading scorer for my team and I've been the captain of the US team for 10 years. However, most of my family has never seen me compete internationally at the highest level. My mission is to raise enough funds to both support my family during this season of heavy training, and to fund the trip for my wife, my son, my father, mother, and stepparents to go to Brazil and see me compete at what could be my final chance at an Olympic gold-medal. My hopes are high and I'm asking for your help in bringing this final piece of my Paralympic dreams to reality. The dream of winning an Olympic gold-medal, and having my family there to see me do it. I'm training hard for the first part, I need your help for the second.
