Bertie and Roscoe Medical Expenses!

Donation protected
Finding Shelter is a no-kill animal rescue committed to the saving, rehabilitation, training and permanent placement of dogs and cats in need.

A strong commitment to animals and the people in the community allows us the opportunity to assist and educate humans and save and protect animals. Our goal is to raise public awareness to the plight of animals and the beauty of adopting a homeless animal in need of forever loving care.

Our animals come from shelters that frequently euthanize for space, from owners who can no longer care for them or when an owner is terminally ill and needs the peace of mind to know their beloved pet will be safe and loved. We also accept and place companion animals who are unwanted, neglected and released from puppy mills and need a second chance at a full and happy life.

So many dogs need Finding Shelter's help and today the two who needed us most at ACCT in Philadelphia were rescued and taken immediately to receive emergency medical care. Finding Shelter is committed to helping the animals we accept into our rescue to the best of our ability. We will offer them everything they need with the hope they can recover and thrive. Their physical condition is absolutely horrifying. Please say "welcome" to Bertie and Roscoe. We love them so much already! www.findingshelter.org

Sweet Bertie needs extensive medical care and we need your help! please donate! www.findingshelter.org

Our very first look at Bertie in her cage at ACCT and we have never seen a dog in worse physical condition and when asked to help her, there was no way that we could say no. Bertie is so gentle and sweet and was literally starving. She is emaciated and probably hadn't eaten in a week, is diabetic, has cataracts and was infested with fleas and parasites. She was surrendered to ACCT as a stray but was so very neglected that had she gone 2 or 3 days more without medical attention, she would have died. Bertie is currently in intensive care to help lower her glucose which is over 600 (normal is around 100). She will be insulin dependent for the rest of her life.

Roscoe is a gentle, sweet and loving boy who needs extensive medical care and we need your help! Please donate! www.findingshelter.org

Roscoe was living happily with a family for two years where he lived with children, cats and had many dog friends, when he suffered from a grooming accident on his tail. The family took him to a clinic where a vet amputated his tail, but it was done incorrectly. he went home with exposed skin, stitches and screaming in pain when anyone bumped it by mistake. The family could not afford any further medical care. As it turns out, the amputation was done incorrectly and part of Roscoe's vertebrae is still exposed causing him severe pain when his tail is touched. He was placed on antibiotics and will have surgery to properly further amputate the tail and be neutered at that time. Roscoe is an absolute JOY and from the waist up, he feels great. After Tuesday, he will feel so much better. Please help us help Roscoe!
