Support a Brave Mother of Three After Attack

In the early morning hours of Friday, January 24 a young mother of three was walking home alone from her job as a waitress in Elmhurst. CCTV street footage pulled from multiple sources shows that she was being stalked by a single male Hispanic. As she was passing by the Jackson Heights Post Office at the juncture of Junction and Northern Boulevards, she noticed that she was being followed and turned to confront her stalker. She shouted at him and demanded to know why he was following her. At this point, the predator turned and walked away from her, and she continued towards her home. This was all captured on video. One block from her home on 95th street off 31st Avenue in East Elmhurst, he reappeared out of the shadows to attack her from behind and drag her into a dark alley. As she struggled a cloth which had a strong chemical odor was forced over her nose and mouth.

The next thing she remembers is finding herself naked on the snow and ice with her assailant lying on top of her. She then began to fight for her life and managed to scream for help. This alerted her neighbors who called the police. One man from a nearby house came out to investigate and managed to drive off her assailant. Soon after the police from the 115 Precinct arrived and the victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she was treated for multiple contusions and abrasions due to the vicious nature of the attack. The assailant was captured on video fleeing the scene. Currently her attacker remains at large, and a police investigation is underway and the police are offering a reward of $3,500 for any information leading to an arrest.

The victim and her family have been deeply traumatized by the attack. She has not been able to return to work due to the fear of another encounter with her attacker, who is still at large. She not only fears for herself but also for her two daughters and her son. Being the sole breadwinner in the home, this has created a situation in which paying the rent and putting food on the table has become difficult.

Please help this young mother of three keep her affairs in order as she recuperates from her ordeal and help this family get their life back on track.
