<div>Sunday, Sept 28, Dylan woke up with a migraine and was vomiting. Monday, Sept 29, Dylan woke up for work as usual. Still not feeling well, he called McKenna and told her he thinks he might have carbon monoxide poisoning from his car he takes back and forth to the city for work. McKenna decided to take him to the hospital around 3:30 pm on Monday to be tested. They got checked in, and Dylan’s blood pressure was abnormally high, sitting at 209/124. They then proceeded with X-rays, bloodwork, and ultrasounds. At 11 pm on Monday, the doctor walked in to tell them that <strong>Dylan is going to be admitted to the ICU due to being in acute renal failure, which is kidney failure.</strong> His creatinine (what filters waste through your kidneys) was sitting at a 7 (normal is 0.6-1.2). As expected, everyone was immediately in shock. Tuesday, Sept 30, they told Dylan that he needs to have a biopsy done on his kidneys to see exactly why and how in-depth this is. Wednesday, October 1st, Berkeley said their biopsy machines are down and they need to transfer to Winchester to have the biopsy completed first thing Thursday morning. Dylan then had the biopsy done on Thursday at 8 am and his blood work is still showing numbers only getting higher. His creatinine is now 8.9. The doctor came in Thursday evening telling them he’d like McKenna and Dylan to meet with the surgeons on Friday Oct 3, to have a port put in to start dialysis while waiting for a kidney to do his transplant as his results from his biopsy showed 80% scar tissue and having IgA nephropathy. <strong>With all of that being said, Dylan will be off work for nearly 6 months if not more.</strong> McKenna will have to take care of him as well as herself as they’re expecting their first son in January. This was all sudden and unexpected considering Dylan being so young and healthy. <strong>If there is anything at all you can give to help them get through the next few months to help with medical bills, mortgage, and basic life expenses, please know it is all so appreciated.</strong> Thank you!
