Mike's Mayo Clinic Fund

As many of you know my son-in-law, Mike Tuttle, has been diagnosed with a very rare form of Autoimmune Encephalitis. Basically, his immune system is attacking his brain causing a multitude of issues. He is unable to work, and has been since late last year. He has been receiving immunoglobulin treatments since June and had limited success. Unfortunately, his progress has stalled and he has begun to exhibit new symptoms. This means there is continued damage to his brain. He is unable to walk unassisted, has poor muscle control, visual and auditory hallucinations, and has trouble speaking at times. In addition, he experiences seizures, tremors, insomnia, and recently has begun to experience severe personality changes.

There are only 78 other known cases of Mike's condition, all of which have been treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. His teams of doctors here believe that he needs to be seen by the experts there, as they have more information, testing procedures, and treatments available to them.

Finances are extremely limited as Mike has been out of work and requires full-time care, which leaves his wife, Nicole, unable to work as she takes care of him and their three children.

Mike is an amazing person who would do anything in his power for those he loves. This has been very difficult on him and his family. Any donation you are able to give, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. This will allow Mike and Nicole to get to the Mayo Clinic, rent a car, and have money for food while away from home. (Tickets from Boise to Rochester are about $1000 round trip). They have very generously been provided lodging through some connections at their church. Any leftover donation funds will be used for paying medical bills.
