Alexis' wish to be handy-able

Donation protected
Alexis was born April of 1999, she was my miracle child. When she was born she was struggling to breath and the Dr.’s knew something was wrong she was so small, they took her to the INC unit right away.  The doctors found numerous problems, she was missing parts of her brain, orthopedic  imperilment, breathing problems as she got older it turned into chronic asthma. Doctors told us our daughter would never walk , talk and most likely not live past 3 yrs of age (THANKS TO GOD WE STILL HAVE HER). With that news her father left it was to much for him to bare so I became a single parent. Over the years The Orthopedic determined Alexis had hip deformation (Hip dysplasia) ,bone deformation in her legs and arms, Spinal curving (Scoliosis) and muscle weakness (myopathy). This started us on the long list of surgery‘s.  She was diagnosed at age 2 with type1 diabetes. At age 4 she was diagnosed Autism. Alexis is on a special diet Carb counting (13yrs), Gluten free(3yrs), and Lactose free (3yrs).Alexis is know 15 yrs old but a very happy 6 yrs old (mentally). She is in Hospital Home Bond Education program and doing very well she is learning to read and write the basic stuff, and a wiz at puzzles. Alexis is encouraged to be as independent as her body and mind will allow her to be. Our motto  for her is “she is not handicap she is handy able with a helping hand try on your own and if you can not do it someone is there to help willingly”. Alexis is also encouraged to have and make choices that concern her. She has options for her mobility she has her wheel chair, her leg brace which allow her to walk, and knee pads which allows her to run around faster and climb with friend on the play ground and such. She also has choirs like cleaning her room, helping in the kitchen, and feeding her fish. Alexis has always been a little social butterfly, she knows no stranger (scary for me). She strives on doing things herself but with that being said it is hard to let her do that when our home is not suitably handicap safe for her to do so.  She needs a handicap equipped room and bathroom.  So I am asking for your help with donations so her needs become reality not just her wish. Thank you

Her next surgery is scheduled for October 23 2014 with 3 more to follow.
