The chorus produces two community performances per year, ranging in style from Broadway musicals to Patriotic pieces, from folk music to contemporary works. We also partner with other local arts and service organizations to enrich our audiences’ experience, and for outreach in giving back to the community.
The Fort Walton Beach Community Chorus Memorial Scholarship was established in 1993 in dedication to numerous long-time chorus members who have passed before us. Since 1993, the FWBCC has awarded scholarships in excess of $40,000.00. Just as music was a large part of our fallen member’s lives, this meaningful scholarship will continue the music experience and education of recipients who also have the love of music!
2020 has been a crazy year for everyone. The rising cases of COVID-19 forced us to cancel our spring production this year which would have spotlighted our scholarship winners and allowed us to raise additional money for our scholarship fund. Similarly, our usual Christmas production has been changed from three performances to a single performance on December 13th. As you can imagine, without ticket sales and the generous donations from those who attend our usual performances, it has been difficult to add to our scholarship fund.
Please donate today to help us continue our long standing tradition of giving scholarships to the talented area high school students who plan to pursue a music degree.
