Life is a funny thing. I think we all take a lot of things for granted in this world and rarely realize how lucky we are just to be given the chance to exist and witness the beauty of living, and unfortunately the ugliness of it too. In the early morning hours of  Monday, October 13th (one day before my birthday) my Aunt was awakened by a power line transformer blowing outside of her house due to weather.  She got up to assess the situation, and as she worked her way around the house, she heard a loud explosion in the kitchen. As she looked up, she could see sparks dancing on the floor and smoke begin to accumulate. Within minutes the kitchen was engulfed in flames. She quickly grabbed my nephew and bagan trying to get her animals out of the house.  She was able to save two, but unfortunately she last two of her puppies and her kitty. Her and my nephew made it out ok, but extensive damage was done. The house was totalled! She has lost almost everything due to a direct lightning strike to the house.

This house had been in my family since 1963 when my Grandfather built it himself. My aunt has pretty much been there her whole life. Four generations have grown up there. For everything that has changed in my families life, this place was always the one constant. There were countless memories built there from every birthday to every Thanksgiving and Christmas I have ever known! It was more than just a house to a lot of people including friends!

My Aunt is due to recieve money from her insurance policy, but I am affraid it just wont be enough to cover everything that she needs. A new house will need to be built. Everything inside will need to be replaced. Items will need to be restored and cleaned. It all starts to add up pretty quickly. My Aunt has given so much to so many. She is the the most whole hearted, caring person I have ever known. She is the type of person who would give her last dollar to someone if she felt they needed it more than her. Anyone that knows my Aunt knows the type of person she is. She may hate that I am doing this because she never wants to burden anyone or wants help, but sometimes you just need it. Anything would help at this point, and if you are not able, please send a prayer her way to help her through this difficult time. Thank you!
