Jaynie Halvorson Memorial Fund

Jaynie Halvorson passed away unexpectedly on January 9th, leaving behind a husband, a 6 month old baby boy, and a community who loved her. Barnesville has lost an amazing friend, wife, mother, sister, daughter, teacher, coach, mentor, coworker, and teammate.

It is hard to find words to describe Jaynie because she was truly special. So many beautiful words and tributes have already been written to Jaynie, and it’s easy to see common themes that represent who she was.

Jaynie was kind. She was a genuine friend to everyone she met. She always greeted you with a smile on her face. She made everyone around her a better person.

Jaynie was caring. She listened to you, cared about you, and picked you up when you needed it most. She made sure everyone felt included.

Jaynie was selfless. She always thought of others and had a heart of pure gold. Whatever you needed, Jaynie would be there for you.

Jaynie was encouraging. She saw the best in you even if you couldn’t see it yourself. She brought a positive energy into everything she did, whether it was playing sports, coaching, teaching, or just being with family and friends.

Jaynie was passionate. She put her heart into everything she did. She worked harder than anyone and never complained. She led by example and inspired those around her to be better.

One comment stood out to me as I read the tributes to Jaynie. Someone said “I am convinced we all need to be more like Jaynie…the world needs more Jaynies in it”. She may have left this life far too early but her spirit will live on in every single person who knew her. We can all honor Jaynie by being a little bit more like her today and every day. Be kind, be caring, be selfless, be encouraging, and be passionate.

Jaynie, you are so very loved and you have had an impact on everyone who was lucky enough to know you.

The Barnesville High School Class of 2007 started this fund to honor Jaynie. Her family has requested that funds go to a scholarship fund for baby Hoyt.
