Blind Center of Nevada-Stolen Catalytic Converters

Tax deductible
On Sunday, January 29th, 2023, thieves broke into to the Blind Center’s property and stole the catalytic converter from one of its busses and its box truck used to pickup donated electronics across the Las Vegas Valley. The bus is used to transport people who are blind or visually impaired to community events, field trips, grocery shopping and more. These vehicles are important to the Center and the cost to replace these two catalytic converters is over $4,000.

On the morning of Thursday, February 2nd, 2033, just a few days later, thieves returned to steal two additional catalytic converters. One from the box truck that was just replaced for $2,700 and one from a transit van which will cost over $2,000 to fix. That’s four catalytic converters in less than a week!

While the Blind Center has an alarm system and over 50 security cameras on the property, thieves were able to cut the catalytic converters and leave within just a few minutes and because they were dressed in all black and a black hoodie, we do not have a good description of their faces.

Please join in making a difference for those who are blind or visually impaired in our community. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
