Elaina Faith Parker ("LAINEY") is blind due to complications of being a preemie, and in conjunction with Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). Two years ago friends organized a benefit to raise funds towards Wendy's responsibility of $30,000 in medical bills (for Elaina's $900,000 6 week stay in the NICU) and for ongoing medical costs and week long trips to Michgian in an effort to restore Lainey's vision (through multiple surgeries).
After 24 months of negotiating & paying medical bills, being unempoyed for 10 months and behind on mortgage, and ongoing accumulating bills, and 7trips to Michigan for eye surgeries, the funds have been depleted and your help is much needed again.
Lainey is currently scheduled for her next eye surgery on November 12th (left) and November 14, 2014 (right).
The average trip to Michigan for Wendy, Lainey, and Wendy's mom is $3,000 for airfare, car rental, medically discounted hotel accomodations for a week, and meals. Along with more medical fees for each surgery. Trips were every 6 weeks, and are now ~ every 6 months.
