Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who visits my page for their time.
Here is my story:

Between growing up seeing elephants and feral dog packs roam the humid city streets in Bangkok, Thailand, to playing with rescued red foxes and savannahs during summer visits in sunny Los Angeles, California, my exposure to wildlife during my adolescent years illuminated my path towards a career captivated by animals.  My childhood taught me adaptability, humility, perseverance, but most of all empathy. Through these events I became drawn to veterinary medicine and realized the importance to educate and work with the impoverished that would otherwise not have access to proper animal care.  The key to improving the lives of animals is through uplifting the lives of people who interact with these animals on a daily basis.

Despite financial obstacles over the  years, my tenacity to become an educated multi-ethnic minority woman as the sole member in my family to pursue a higher education pushed me to continue in my courses and become involved in school activities.  While it took several years of working and attending college full-time, I uprooted to the beautiful lush green landscapes of Northern California to acquire a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation.  Since graduating I have worked four years as a lead veterinary technician for My Pet Mobile Vet, a 26-foot mobile hospital that cruises the Los Angeles hills, seeing one client and patient at a time.  The stress free energy and one-on-one time allows us to focus on enhancing the critical bond between furry loved one, guardian, and veterinarian.  Over the years I have been able to develop personalized connections with so many families, sharing in their joys and sorrows while they opened their hearts and homes.  Being able to positively impact the lives of people and animals instills a sense of value I as a veterinarian may provide for the community.

Over time Dr. Garcia became my mentor and encouraged me to not only pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian myself, but to also choose a school abroad for the full experience.  That was when I heard of St. Matthew's University through Dr. Molina,  who is an alumni student, and decided to apply for their 3-year veterinary medical program.  The university is located on the seven mile beach of Grand Cayman island off the coast of Florida.  Notably possessing a renown and diversified faculty coupled with a low student to faculty ratio, I believe attending an international school such as St. Matthew’s University will further shape me into a well-rounded individual and a stronger, more receptive veterinarian.  Keeping an open mind, my current aspirations are to work in mixed animal practice, as well as conservation, zoo medicine, research, and rehabilitation.  With a love for traveling, I hope to provide animal health care to international countries while being able to welcome and appreciate various unique cultures and landscapes.  Having spent countless hours in the veterinary field with emergency calls, late-night shifts, team building activities, and volunteering services, I understand the amount of palpable drive, perseverance, empathy, and maturity that is demanded of a veterinarian.  I believe my experiences, rapture for animals, and relentless curiosity prepares me to embark and succeed on the journey to veterinary medicine.

The university does not provide any form of financial aid so students must have tuition funds or entry is not permitted.  I have applied for their January 2019 term so I would need to secure funds before that time with an end goal of $250,000. Any form of donation towards my pursuit of a higher education and dream of becoming a veterinarian would be of deep gratitude.  Being a veterinarian would open endless opportunities for me to work together with communities on local and global projects to promote the health and welfare of people and animals.
