Life in Japan is amazing. Specifically, life at APU is amazing. I am living my dream of meeting and befriending people from all over the world. I can legitimately say that I'm friends with people from over 30 different countries. It's a truly incredible experience.
Living in Japan is hard. Specifically, finding jobs that are both close and don't require conversationally fluent Japanese is hard. I have been looking for a job that meets those requirements ever since I came to Japan with little to no luck so far. Taking out a student loan is not an option. The US student financial aid system only works with a few universities in Japan, and
my school is not included.
Hopefully, my situation is going to change. I have some leads that I'm working on and will hopefully have a (more) reasonable financial situation by the end of the semester. Unfortunately, those leads require time that I currently don't have, which is why I'm reaching out to you: my friends, my family, and everyone I know and love from back home. If I can raise enough money to make it
through this next semester, I will have the time required to find a good job and start saving.
As you're considering my plea here, I'd like you to understand that you aren't paying a lazy kid's tuition or buying a student a meal. You're investing in my education and my future. Your contribution makes a difference towards my long-term independence for the future.
As investors, you deserve a bit of transparency on your investment. So, from now on, I pledge to be
active on Facebook. I will be sharing with you all my adventures here in the Asia Pacific region
from the cool and unique experiences that comes from living in Japan, to the small little oddities
that I don't even realize are unique anymore.
