On Thursday, April 21st, Nick Sheahin suffered a massive heart attack as a result of a blood clot. The paramedics came and performed CPR on Nick for 20 minutes before they could get a pulse. He was rushed to Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he was placed on life supporting devices for five days.
For those five days, the Sheahin/Reighard family and all of Nick’s friends took over the waiting area of the hospital. We prayed and reminisced, waiting for positive signs that Nick would somehow survive. Around 5 pm on April 25 the nurse who cared for Nick most of the time, pulled us all together and told the family the news we dreaded to hear. That Nick’s brain was no longer functioning. After everyone said their goodbyes to Nick, he was taken off of every life saving device, provided some comfort medications, and passed around 11 pm on April 25, 2022 .
Nick was blessed to have so many loved ones who cared and supported him. We will always remember that special young man, with his infectious smile and zest for life, who loved his two kids (Addie and Ace) with all his heart. In leiu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to support Nick's children for their immediate and future needs.
