FUSE Youth Project

Our project is the Fun Unique Social Enterprise also known as FUSE. Our aim as a service provider is to work with children and young people living in social housing and/or from low-income families. Supporting them by providing local safe spaces for them to meet with their friends. Giving them the opportunity to engage in activities and sports. We run open access, term time after school activities for children and young people, including a homework club. Additionally, we offer half term and holiday programmes across three different estates in Barnet. Providing food and refreshments at no cost to those who want to take part as our way of tackling holiday hunger in the community. We do this because we want to see children and young people build local relationships, have somewhere safe to meet with friends and feel a part of their community.

We currently have youth clubs in Grahame Park, West Hendon and Stonegrove, Which we run in partnership with the different community trust organisations on the estates. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have seen an increase in the need for our service within the community. The lockdowns had a negative impact on many children's physical and mental well-being due to being trapped indoors and isolated from friends and relatives. We want to continue to work with young people to improve their physical and mental health through regular exercise, conversation and socialising with others safely. So that they will thrive again and create their own pathways to a bright future.

As our service continues to grow we need to ensure that we have enough funding to cover our core costs such as; food supplies, admin, stationary, insurance, accounting, promotional materials, disposables, travel hire, technology, and secure a contingency amount to continue the work we do. Our Target of £10,000 will support the youth project by ensuring that we have the day to day materials that we need to remain compliant for the next year. These things are essential to the running of our service and without them, the quality of our service will be impacted negatively. So please share our page. Give what you can, and be a part of our story!
