<div>Five months ago my life completely changed almost overnight. As many of you who know me know that over the past few years I have been pushing myself to become someone I was proud to be. On May 15th this year I took part in an activity in work that involved climbing a 45foot pole and staying on top of it for ten minutes. Although terrified of heights I pushed through as had come to believe in no growth in comfort....the aftermath has been catastrophic. The next day I had severe vertigo that led me unable to move, and over the next few weeks developed more severe symptoms which has resulted in so many doctors and hospital appointments, we are now beginning to find out what has happened but all still feels so unreal. The activity has caused some kind of dysfunction of my autonomic nervous system effecting both my body and brain. Sensory issues which leaves me sensitive to even TV,music, light etc. Severe brain fog (which is so awful for someone who thrived on being organised), migraines, vertigo, severe heart rate increase on standing, unable to walk or stand for long,muscle spasms, tremors,insomnia, shortness of breath,nausea, numbness....the list goes on and on. It has been and still is impossible to accept that overnight I've gone from working, raising a family, being active, loving outdoor activities and enjoying life to being bed bound a lot of the time and unable to do just basic things, it has broken my heart and the ripples it's caused in mine and my families lives are immense. Although I am now receiving some medical treatment through The Walton hospital there are further treatments that have unfortunately got to be funded privately plus the travel costs to all appointments etc. My amazing husband has sold his van to fund this but has also had to cut down his hours in work to help me .It doesn't sit comfortably with us at all asking for help especially financial help and we've thought long and hard about it but this has brought on such a devastating time in all our lives that I need to grasp onto anything that may hopefully improve my life and my families enough so that I can begin to function on some level again.
