<div>Als Großmutter wünscht man sich nichts sehnlicher, als sein Enkelkind gesund aufwachsen zu sehen. Spielen, lachen, laufen lernen. Doch für unseren kleinen Liam ist der Start ins Leben anders verlaufen, als wir es uns je hätten vorstellen können.

<div>Liam wurde mit einem ATRT (Atypischer Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor) diagnostiziert – einem sehr seltenen und aggressiven Hirntumor im Kindesalter. Seit dieser Diagnose kämpft er tapfer wie ein kleiner Löwe.

<div>Er hat mehrere Operationen hinter sich, neun Chemotherapien und befindet sich aktuell in Bestrahlung. Nach einer Operation erlitt er einen Schlaganfall im Kleinhirn und lag zwei Wochen im Koma. Danach musste er alles neu lernen.

<div>Heute kann er wieder sitzen und robben – aber stehen oder laufen ist noch nicht möglich. Jeder kleine Fortschritt ist für uns ein Wunder.
</div>

<div>Seine Eltern leisten Unglaubliches. Ihr Alltag besteht aus Klinikterminen, Therapien, Untersuchungen und ständiger Sorge. Eine normale Kita oder ein unbeschwerter Familienalltag ist derzeit nicht möglich. Liams Mama betreut ihn rund um die Uhr.

<div>Neben der seelischen Belastung bringt diese Situation auch finanzielle Herausforderungen mit sich – durch Fahrten zur Klinik, zusätzliche Therapien, Hilfsmittel und Verdienstausfall.

<div>Als Familie stehen wir eng zusammen. Doch manchmal braucht man Hilfe von außen.
