Funeral Services For Gaspar H. Cruz

I woke up to a knock this morning from the visiting nurse, opened the door and asked her to wait a second. I shook my father (Gaspar Sr.) and he wasn’t responsive. He was a few weeks removed from being permanently discharged from Tarrytown Hall Care Center, because he had about 6 surgeries dating back to June due to stents put in to both of his legs. He was doing great after physical and occupational therapy that the staff there said he was allowed to come home and live his normal life after 7 months of inpatient care. His passing came to such a shock to me because he was doing so well at home, that we was planning on going to DR for a short vacation. My father came to North Tarrytown in the 1960s and was one of the first Dominicans to live here, start a family, and make an honest living. As a pillar of the community his levity, wisdom, and sense of humor will always be remembered. He rarely said no to people and always gave a helping hand. As a property owner he gave countless people their first home in their new country. As you all may know my mother passed away not even a month ago and I got such a great response from family and friends that it funded all of my mothers funeral costs. My family and I would appreciate any type of donation for the same funeral services for my father.
