Funeral Travel and Support as I return to MA
Donation protected
Dear Community,
My mother's partner of many years passed away suddenly this Saturday, Nov2. I am leaving immediately to Massachusetts to support my family during this time of deep grief and loss of someone who supported and cared for my mother so unconditionally. Making this decision means that I am surrendering two weeks of employment- the very employment I would need to travel to my family and support myself.
While my side practice is offering healing sessions and workshops, my regular day job is with a Non-Profit agency as a counselor for HIV Positive clients who are homeless and working hard to recover from drug and alcohol addiction. It is rewarding work But my per-diem position does not offer me paid leave or bereavement. So this is indeed a surrender.
This emergency comes on the heels of taking a financial hit from the Vallejo wildfires which left me with highways closed, awaiting possible evacuation and without electricity or utilities for almost a week-limiting the capacity of getting to work. It is a hard decision to surrender and support my family but it is one that my heart could not deny.
Please know that any gift at this time is appreciated. It will be used responsibly and with gratitude. If you are unable to give please know that your prayers and blessings are cherished.
Deep Gratitude,
Preston Coyote Vargas
