Stella Jane Roman was born unexpectedly at 22 weeks & 5 days old. Tenaciously for 11 days she fought as doctors and nurses inferred she was born older than her gestational age suggested.
Yet at midnight on her 12th day of life suddenly everything changed. Her oxygen saturation plummeted to 60%. Her father Samuel & mother Isabella began to plead and pray for her to pull through. However, this time was different than the small blips before; this time as the hours passed and the incredible medical team ordered X-rays, blood gas tests, positioning attempts, countless IV medications as well as breathing machine adjustments, nothing changed. Her oxygen teetered between 40-70% blood gas levels came back at 6 for her ph, urine output slowed, blood pressure dropped significantly despite many fluid bolous. Hours passed as she stayed in this state and as everyone in her life tried their hardest to help her Stella’s body had made its decision.
The days which we shared with her as she faught vivaciously slipped our minds as the stress of this situation intensified. We held our sweet baby girl for the first and last time.
August 25th we began to call funeral services to receive quotes & then to humbly ask for donations from family and friends in this agonizing time of our lives. Even if a penny at a time is donated we appreciate every kind word and every prayer whispered. May our sweet baby Rest In Peace❤️
