Funeral services for David’s mom

Staying by my moms side tonight. Most of the time when we see a long post we skip it. I am hoping however you ALL will read this. But I will pre-warn you, this will be a little long, but it’s from my heavy heart. On Saturday the 5th of May my mother helped me put together a shadow box for a LEO’s family as they are survivors. This August will be the 20th anniversary, of their loved ones death. Then as many of you know that following Tuesday I went to Somerset NJ to participate in my 5th year as a member of an outstanding organization known as, The Police Unity Tour. The next day my mother became ill and was rushed to the hospital. And I went back home that morning. Since then she has been on life support. This past Friday, my son and I spoke and Nick told me “Grammy would want you to go to DC and be with the survivors and my 2nd family”. And so I did. I have to say it was amazing to be able to show the support to this wonderful and amazing family. I was also able to see my 2nd family, and being there with them gave me comfort, so I stayed another day at the encouragement of my friends and Nick. Seeing Phillip Tindley,John Krupinsky,
and sooo many many more of ya’s, you will never know the comfort being around you gave me. So many people came up and gave me well wishes, and saying a prayer for my mother. I’m sorry if I drew a blank or didn’t recognize you. My mind is just racing in all different directions. I can’t begin to express the comfort I felt from being around the survivors and their family, along with the men & women of the LAPD.
But while I was there I had two people say to me “ I guess your mother isn’t really that sick, if your here”. Well I came close to putting them on their ass. But Mom wouldn’t want that. I went because she knew how much it meant to me, helping the survivors. Plus by giving the family the finished project, a piece of my mom will always be with them. So Monday morning at about 0330, I dropped one of best friends off at his hotel after dinner in China town and came home. I came home, back to my mom. This is the hardest thing I have ever gone thru, and don’t wish it on anyone. Since the end of last May I have been taken care of her and my stepfather and not working full time. I’ve just been doing Lyft driving. I believe family comes 1st. Well Monday I was advised by the physicians taking care of my mother, that her prognosis is not well at all. In fact she will be on a feeding tub, and a ventilator via tracheotomy, should she continue to live. My mother has no life insurance, and never planned for this day. I am lost and confused, scared because I don’t know how I am going to take care of her final services. I just do not have the financial resources to do so.I am also still taking care of my stepfather who’s 72 and in poor health. I can’t begin to say all the emotions I am feeling. I have no brothers & sisters, Outside of my Mom, the only blood family I have is Nick. I’m not dating anyone and I’m alone, outside of the three thousand friends I have on here on Facebook. John Krupinsky told me yesterday,” I ALWAYS do the right thing, when it comes to the blue family and survivors”. Well he taught me that several years ago, and I try to live to that way of thinking. I’m not writing this for sympathy, but to tell folks what I am going thru, and just how much you ALL mean to me. Someone had suggested I try a gofund me page. Well I wouldn’t know how to, nor do I think I would get any help. But most importantly, as many of you know I keep to myself and NEVER ask for help. I can’t believe I even said all that I am going thru. And that’s only part of it.
So I am asking, that you please keep my mom, Nick, Chuck (stepfather) and I in your continued prayers.
