Funeral Service for Chris Goodspeed

Shattered like glass, our hearts are in a million pieces.

On September 25th, we each received a call that would bring us to our knees. Our fearless, loyal, and selfless friend had lost his life at just 30 years old.

At first there was denial, then sadness, and then came the flood of memories we shared with our childhood friend.

We will remember Christopher for his kind heart, his unwavering loyalty and commitment to his word. He was one of a kind.

There are no words to properly describe Chris because he was so many things to so many people.

He was the kind of friend who would spend hours hanging up streamers and balloons for your son's 3rd birthday party just to see him smile.

Earning the nickname "Speed" in high school, he was the guy who was ridiculously good at sports without even trying. His love for football lead him to become a member of the semi-pro football team The Stallions and an Assistant Coach with Unadilla Valley.

And, as good as Chris was, he always celebrated others success before his own.

More than sports Chris loved his son Trentin and spending time with him was the highlight of his week. They shared a love for the outdoors flying kites or building snow forts together. Anyone who knew him heard him say how proud he was of his "little man", or his "number 1". He boasted about how smart he was and how he was thriving in school.

Trentin was everything to Chris and, at 6 years old, he will grow to live a life without his Dad.

Chris also leaves behind his father Bob, mother Mary and two brothers Robert and Ryan.

With great sadness we're reaching out once again to our community to ask for help. Unprepared to lay to rest a 30 year old young man, Chris' family could use your support for funeral expenses.

Chris will be laid to rest this Friday, September 29th and we would love to give him the service he deserves.
